His table is a bit simplified but no less elegant with plenty of gold rails that elevate the ball above numerous ramps and curved lanes that all lead to targets and mission goals. Butters is the breakout character of the cast, even achieving his own dedicated episode, so having South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game was only logical. If you are wondering why Butters got his own table, then you haven’t been watching the recent seasons of the show. South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game I was really torn between playing from the 1W view to see all the content and playing from view 5 or 6 where I can actually get high scores. The sad thing is that there are only two or three camera angles that actually give you a good view of this back screen, and none of those are particularly good for playing pinball due to their low angle that makes it way too easy to lose track of the ball. The one thing I loved (and hated) about this table is that for the first time Zen Studios is making some interesting use with the vertical back panel of the pinball table, which features a large movie theater screen with always-changing images, based on your current goal in the game. Eventually the ball will drop down onto the table where you will find plenty of ramps, targets, bumpers, and lanes that all relate to various characters, and moments pulled from episodes of the long-running series. Simpson chase episode Kenny rams the ball into action from the highway launch chute right into a miniature South Park Cows football field where you try to keep the ball in play for as long as possible with dedicated flippers. South Park: Super Sweet Pinballįirst up is the Super Sweet Pinball table that encompasses the entire cast, as well as key locations from the fictional city of South Park. Zen is known to throw in some 3D animated character models in their licensed tables but seeing as how this show is created from virtual construction paper, they do a great job with 2D characters that pop-up much like a shooting gallery target. This time they are taking on those adorable scamps from South Park Colorado in a two-table pack that features South Park: Super Sweet Pinball and South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game.īoth of these new tables exemplify the very essence of South Park with bright bold colors and 3D constructs for the various thematic elements from the show. I'd also suggest grabbing the Marvel's Women of Power pack since it's a touch cheaper than the others (being an original licensed Marvel pack with only two tables), and the Champions table included in there is hands down my favorite in the game, with lots of fun and tricky shots to pull of and a very rewarding Trickshot combo if you can pull it off as well as a fun and rewarding Multiball that's easy to understand how to get, but challenging to pull off in practice.Zen Studios keeps cranking out the hits when it comes to DLC tables for their highly enjoyable and totally addicting Zen Pinball 2 game for the PlayStation 4. Pack 2 would be my second choice, since Mars Attacks would probably be my one choice for best Williams table to start with, but the other two tables on it aren't ones that I would readily recommend, so it's much more of a mixed bag. However, you can use the Survival or 5 Minute challenges to get in and explore the table, and I think those are the best way to experience that particular table (at least, until you pretty well master it). The odd one out is Safecracker which uses a single ball setup that can be challenging to get going with. Theater of Magic and The Champions Pub are both great tables to learn on and give you a really fun experience. I would say that Pack 3 would be the best starting point. It's all down to taste though so make sure you try before them out. Family Guy is another good beginner table I think.

It is quite an easy table for a new player as well. My favourite non-Williams table is Aliens as it captures the film really well. If I would have to pick one volume for a new player I think Volume 4 just pips it because volume 3 has Safe Cracker which is not my cup of tea as it's just too difficult. My two favourite tables in the Williams collection are White Water (Volume 4) and Champion Pub (Volume 3) but all the Williams tables are great. I nearly always go for the harder modes except when I'm learning the table as it's closer to a real pinball experience. The arcade and tournament modes with the Williams tables give more realistic ball physics and is harder. The Williams have 3 game modes/difficulty settings where as the normal Zen tables have 2. They give more of a "pinball simulation" with the option of tournament setup. I'm a pinball novice and think all the Williams tables are superb.
